Thank goodness I used these guys because I was going to use someone else before my agent told me to call these guys. If I would have used who I was going to use, it wouldn't have been insurable because the other contractor wasn't licensed and bonded. Comment: What I liked was they wouldn't just ******(redacted) rig it like I asked them to. Troy flat out told me that they don't do that type of work. He said there's a lot of guys out there that will take your money, but they're not going to be around or warrant it etc. I was just trying to save money is all. However, as cost keep going up, I'm sure it won't be any cheaper next year. I was surprised by the number of roofs Troy told me he walks away from because they don't do half-a** (redacted) work. I know one in particular they walked away from, and I see they have *** Roofing (redacted) doing it. It just makes you wonder is all. If I'm going to pay someone then I want the best, if you have cancer wouldn't you want the best surgeon? and not someone that is cheap and just takes your money? Get the best and have it done right is all I can say, and these guys did just that. Thanks guys, oh and PS> I'm a Packers Fan and we still got your number there 'Steve dah Bears' fan worker.

Comment: I just needed someone to fix an outside light for me, I called and talked to someone, and they sent over a guy, and he fixed it. There was a wire bad and had come loose. When I asked him what I owed he said, 'you owe me nothing'. I said that's not right you'll get fired, for which he relied 'I wish'; I'm the owner. You can pay me next time when you have a real problem. I'm 73 years old and it's nice to know there are still honest and trustworthy people out there. I forget his name, but he said he was ex-military and being honest and helping people was in his nature.

Comment: I had a couple contractors look at my roof and Troy impressed me the most. Also, the other contractor asked me to pull the roofing permit. I didn't know any better, but I went with these guys because they got back to me and followed up. They were a little more, but when I asked Troy if he wanted me to pull the permit. He said, what a silly question to ask. When I told him the other contractor said I had to pull the permit because it's my house; he said that's because the other contractor was NOT licensed (red flag). He told me licensed and bonded roofers pull the permit, and if anyone ever wants you to pull the permit then they're 'shady' and not licensed or bonded. Thank God I dodged that bullet.

Comment: I hired ******* (redacted) and after 6 months I noticed mold and water leaking. I called these guys, and they were able to fix the leak. However, they told me the prior contractor did not install things correctly. Now I can't afford to have it fixed because I basically wasted all my money on those other clowns. Troy told me his patch won't last as the whole job wasn't properly done. I guess I'll just wait and see if I can make it by this year and have them redo it next year.

Comment: I didn't want a bunch of illegals working on my roof and dealing with issues if someone got hurt. There seems to be a lot of contractors out there that are cheap and have a large labor force what I think are probably illegals. That's just my opinion and I base that on none of them speaking English. Call me racist or whatever you want, but I had several roofing company's look at what I needed, and I asked to see their workers comp policy and license numbers. I told them that my father-in-law hired someone to do his roof and he got sued because one of the workers got hurt and the contractor had NO insurance. Most of these guys never got back to me or said I didn't need it etc. When Steve came out, he said no problem and the owner called me and gave me the information. I even went to my homeowner's policy company, ********** (redacted), and they verified it was legit. Maybe some people would not care, but not me.

Comment: Don't be fooled by someone giving a cheaper 'Proposal' because they low ball you to get the job and then charge you more money. Also, look at the shingle they're putting on, cheap shingles might save you some money, but a better shingle isn't much more. I do electrical and construction work, so I know a lot of these guys, but I don't do roofs. The average roof, in Kankakee is about $14k - $20k, I did use Larry whenever I needed a roof in the past, but he's doing roofs now for the Lord. I called around and got some estimates and one was about $3k less than the average. Then I stumbled into these guys at the Legion; someone said they worked with Larry years ago. I talked with Troy, asked for an estimate and he hit the numbers right where I was estimating. I hired them and no regrets. I'd like to think my friend Larry was smiling down on me and made it all happen.

Comment: These guys did great. They did what they said they would do, and I was glad I hired them. I called a few other contractors and they just seemed to be about doing a 'cheap and fast' job instead of doing it correctly. Troy, explained to me what was needed and what was wrong, I'm so glad I hired them. No complaints.
